Definition Of Computer Graphics

Computer Graphics are graphics created with the help of computers and more generally the representation and manipulation of image data by a computer. It refers to any computer device or program that makes a computer capable of displaying and manipulating pictures. The term also refers to the images themselves.

The term computer graphics has several meanings:-

The manipulation of pictorial data by computer.

Many technologies used to create and manipulate such pictorial data.

The image was also produced.

  • Computer graphic also help for computers easier to interact with, and better for understand and interpreting many types of data.
  •  It play vital role in the field of movies and video game industry.

2D Computer Graphics 

  • In 2D computer Graphics are the generations of digital images using a computer that have mostly two - dimensions models (x, y). 
  • 2D graphics started in 1950s. 
  • This mainly used in applications that were originally developed upon traditional printing and drawing technologies.

3D Computer Graphics :

  • In contrast to 2D computer graphics are graphics that use three - dimensional representation of geometric data that is stored in computer for the purpose of performing calculations and rendering 2D images. 
  • Such images are used for real time viewing as they have 3 axis ( x, y, z).

Types Of Computer Graphics

It divided into two parts. This two parts are following :-

Interactive Graphics 

In interactive graphics the user may interact with the graphics and with the programs generating them example: can make any change in image show on the screen.

Advantages Of Interactive Computer Graphics

  1. It produce high quality images.
  2. The interactive computer graphics results are more reliable.
  3. It's cost is lower.
  4. It provide large productivity.
  5. Lower analysis.

Working Of Interactive Graphics Display

Interactive graphics display mainly consist three main components :

  1. Frame Buffer Or Digital Memory
  2. Monitor
  3. Display Controller
The image is stored in frame buffer in the form binary numbers which represents as a array of picture elements or pixels. For example, where you want to store only black and white images, so you can represents black pixels by 1's and white pixels by 0's in the frame buffer.

Passive Graphics 

In passive computer graphics the user has no control over the image example can not make any change in image show on the screen.
